  Today my fourth post is dedicated to Dragsvik, Finnish synth-punk band of four people coming from different bands in the underground hardcore scene. A band who is not afraid of speaking out, as their songs are deeply characterised by strong lyrics going from social injustice, racism, poverty and class struggle , and just four weeks ago they released their third album, "Kapital". An album of eight tracks in which in some songs the band continues the aggressive post-punk formula of their previous two ones, but on some other songs they explore new territories, like for example in the 80s disco pop hit  "Kontrolli".   Today my third post of this blog is dedicated to Aluk Todolo, instrumental psychedelic French trio with 20 years of activities. Formed in Grenoble in 2004, their first three releases ( the self-titled in EP and their first two albums, Obedience and Finsternis ) were characterised by extremely raw jam session with a lo-fi production, like early black metal but played by Hawkwind. After recording a collaboration album with the Austrian band Der Blutharsch, in 2012 the trio released their maturation album, which is Occult Rock. Occult Rock is not only the name the album, but it's the also the name of the style by which the band define itself. The album is made of eight long instrumental tracks in a perfect combination of black metal, punk, space-rock, surf rock and post-rock. From Occult Rock, the trio took the distance from the earliest work and the raw lo-fi sounds of the beginning is replaced by a more defined sound with more geometrical composition like in the following albums V...

The second post in this blog today is dedicated to Altar De Fey, Californian death-rock band with three albums and different singles on their credit. Even if all their three albums came out in a span between 2015 and 2025 the adventure of this great band started in the early 1980s with Kent Cates at the guitars, Aleph Kall at the drums and Butch Mason at the vocals and though having played in different important venues of San Francisco ( also supporting Christian Death ) and gained a strong base support, no original recordings were ever released and the band split up in 1988. In 2011 Kent and Aleph reactivated the band, first as a duo with Kent at the guitar and Aleph at the vocals and a drum machine for the section rhythm, and then as a quartet with the adding of Skot Brown at the bass and Jake Hout at the vocals and the return of Aleph at the drums., and it's currently still rocking on  Altar De Fey official bandcamp page Echoes In The Corridor  The Insatiable Desire For Mor...

ALISON'S HALO The first post of this blog is dedicated to Alison's Halo, a seminal shoegaze/dream-pop band formed by the Cooper siblings (Catherine at the guitar and vocals and Adam at the guitar).  Originally the band started as a trio in 1992, with the bassist Lynn Anderson and a drum machine, but then they changed their line-up with the arrival of several drummers and a third guitarist, till they split up in 1998. During their six years of activity they recorded a series of EPs and singles which were included in the compilation album "Eyedazzler", released in 1998. 11 years after their dissolution the Coopers reactivated the band and they're still active and touring.
